Pool Closure

Dear Y Members,

On Monday, January 1, 2024, our Y’s indoor pool will be closed for major repairs and renovations. We anticipate that our pool (and, by extension, our hot tub) will be closed for approximately 12 to 14 weeks.

Our pool is seventy years old and is one of the most heavily utilized resources at our YMCA. As you can imagine, that combination of factors has taken a toll over the years. The time has come to upgrade our pool area to ensure that you and your fellow Y members can continue to enjoy our aquatics programming for many more years to come.

Local contractor and long-time Y partner Mowry & Schmidt will be doing the work for our pool project. In particular, they will be reinforcing the underside of the pool deck, updating the drainage infrastructure, and replacing deck tiles.

During this pool closure, your fitness will remain a top priority for us. As such, please know that we are actively exploring opportunities to partner with other local pools and area YMCA’s so that we can continue to offer you a comprehensive menu of aquatics programming during our pool closure. We will provide details for you as they develop over the next few weeks.

As you consider your options during the pool closure, we want to emphasize that your Y is much more than just a pool. In fact, you may discover that this winter is a great time to try something new at our facility. If you are unsure of all that we have to offer, stop by our Main Street Welcome Center so that we can walk you through your options.

In closing, thank you for your support, understanding, and patience as we make necessary renovations in the short run to ensure our ongoing long-term legacy of aquatics access and programming for you and your fellow Y members.
