POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Development & Community Engagement plans, manages, controls, leads our Y’s advancement efforts, including creating a passionate emphasis on community engagement and “friend-raising”; fundraising (for annual and capital campaigns as well as special initiatives); and a professional grant research, writing, and securement process, always seeking to augment our vision to “Love, Serve, Care.”

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategize with the CEO and Board of Directors to build strategic partnerships leading to transformational gifts from corporate partners, foundations, government agencies, and individual donors.
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals and campaign objectives.
  • Lead annual campaigns, capital campaigns, sponsorship efforts, and specific funding initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the department budget while monitoring fundraising and operational expenses.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive grant procurement strategy, including researching, identifying, writing, coordinating, and managing grant applications.
  • Ensure proper stewardship of grantor relationships and cultivate long-term partnerships with funding organizations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, elected officials, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the YMCA throughout Franklin County by participating in community events, civic organizations, partnerships, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Join the CEO in publicly representing the YMCA to strategically grow the organization’s network of stakeholders, supporters, and community partners.
  • Meet regularly with members of the Board of Directors and volunteers to cultivate, steward, and solicit major gifts and strengthen community relationships.
  • Coordinate committee meetings and assist in preparing agendas, reports, and follow-up action items.
  • Coach and support the CEO, Board members, staff, and volunteers in relationship-building, donor engagement, and fundraising best practices.
  • Lead storytelling and impact communication efforts that highlight the YMCA’s mission, member success stories, community impact, and strategic initiatives.
  • Individually and in partnership with the CEO, solicit and secure major gifts while building a pipeline of future donors and supporters.
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of written and verbal proposals, campaign materials, presentations, donor communications, sponsorship materials, and grant reports.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of community events, donor engagement activities, public-facing initiatives, and special events.
  • Support organizational advocacy efforts by assisting with legislative outreach, public awareness campaigns, and relationship-building efforts that advance YMCA priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to support strategic planning initiatives, capital development opportunities, and long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Implement new technologies, systems, and procedures that improve efficiency, donor tracking, reporting, and workflow.
  • Identify, manage, and leverage donor relations databases and relationship management systems.
  • Create and manage an annual development and engagement calendar that includes campaigns, events, grant deadlines, strategic visits, and community initiatives.
  • Seek out meaningful opportunities for community service and leadership through collaborations, committees, advisory groups, and community partnerships.
  • Ensure all development and engagement activities follow YMCA policies, procedures, ethical standards, and best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of five years of relevant verifiable fundraising success, will consider similar combinations of education and experience

  • Personal record of accomplishment in reaching or exceeding fundraising and grant procurement goals

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Athletics at Franklin County’s YMCA is responsible for the development and implementation of sports programming for all ages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Directs and supervises athletics and recreation program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Grow athletics and recreation programming in accordance with operating plans, best practices, and all YMCA rules and policies.
2. Ensures that all sports programs and activities are properly supervised.
3. Secures and schedules facilities and athletic fields. Responsible for site set-up and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available. Recommends equipment and supply purchases.
4. Organizes and conducts sports clinics and annual summer sports camps.
5. Manages gymnasium rentals and multi-program gymnasium schedule.
6. Supervises the Director of Gymnastics and oversees gymnastics programming in partnership with the Director.
7. Coordinates with the Communications Director to promote enrollment through community marketing efforts, coordination with local recreation departments and athletic clubs, and completion of program session books.
8. Develops and monitors department and program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
9. Uses YMCA membership software to create programming, implement and adjust fees, and allow for session registration.
10. Creates a welcoming environment, supporting a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
11. Hire, supervise, coach, and evaluate direct reports, ensuring they have the tools needed to accomplish their jobs, always aligning with our Y’s mission, vision, and needs.
12. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve departmental and organizational goals. Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
13. Ensure desk staff are advised of rentals, scheduling, and changes to scheduling or programming.
14. Assure self-development through reading, research, and conference or training attendance.
15. Act as a positive role model while demonstrating and following the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect.
16. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

• Pass a background check – CORI, SORI and fingerprinting (required)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Y Academy at the Franklin County’s YMCA is responsible for the onsite daily management of the early education programs, including budgeting, staffing, programming and compliance with all state regulatory standards. Ensures nurturing environment, high quality and growth of early education operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure that all child care programs and operations adhere to all state, local and YMCA rules and licensing regulations and takes steps to immediately remedy any deficiencies
2. Builds a welcoming and inclusive environment among a diverse member community and demonstrates a commitment to Franklin County’s Y mission and values
3. Follow best practices, ensure that the school age child care operations follow Y policies and procedures
4. See that proper steps are taken to ensure the safety of every child, that all staff are properly trained and implementing proactive and preventative steps to keep children safe and free from any form of abuse or neglect
5. Ensure the implementation of a developmentally appropriate, multicultural curriculum fostering a progression of skills, character and social development for all children
6. Build relationships by using names and initiating conversations with all members, staff, volunteers and guests
7. Develop a regular cadence for presence to observe programs, audit paperwork, address issues and support staff
8. Conduct program evaluations to capture parent and child feedback
9. Respond to all parent, agency and community inquiries in a timely manner, and no later than 24 hours after receipt
10. Ensure the proper maintenance of administrative paperwork in compliance with licensing regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation or a related field preferred; EEC teaching certification in lieu of higher education will be considered
• Minimum 3 years supervision and leadership of staff preferred
• Minimum two years programmatic experience as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs
• Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards for licensed child care center director (at minimum),including continuing education/training hours; Strongstart certification required
• Experience in budget management and producing earned revenue
• Excellent communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults
• Clear Criminal Background check – EEC Fingerprinting Required

Job Overview

Franklin County’s Y is seeking a passionate and dedicated Competitive Gymnastics Coach to join our Tumbling Tigers gymnastics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gymnastics and a love for working with children. As a Competitive Gymnastics Coach, you will be responsible for teaching gymnastics skills, promoting physical fitness, and fostering a positive and encouraging environment for all participants. This is an opportunity for mid-level coaches who are willing to learn optional level coaching. Upper level coaching experience is preferred.

The Tumbling Tigers practice three evenings per week (M/W/F) and this position would be dedicated to those practices. In addition, the Tumbling Tigers compete in approximately 10 local competitions per season. This position would be invited to be part of staff that would participate in coaching at these meets, however this travel is not a requirement.

Essential Functions

  • Instruct students in gymnastics techniques, including tumbling, balance beam, vaulting, and floor exercises.
  • Must be physically capable of spotting gymnasts from beginning levels through Optional gymnasts, with cognitive ability to create progressions when physical strength is not sufficient.
  • Must be able to lift and support up to 150 pounds.
  • Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Ensure the safety of all students during practice sessions by enforcing safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Must be able to clearly see a distance of at least 120 feet and have clear auditory abilities to ensure safety throughout the gymnastics center.
  • Organize and lead warm-up exercises to prepare students for training.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any areas needing improvement.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to organize events, competitions, and showcases.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gym equipment and training area.

Skills, Certifications & Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques and coaching methods.
  • Must currently have or be willing to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Must currently have or be willing to obtain USAG instructional or professional membership, including certifications in Safety and Risk Management, SafeSport, and USAG Instructor training.
  • Strong desire to complete continuing education and attend additional training opportunities.
  • Ability to educate and motivate young athletes while fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and fellow coaches.
  • Must successfully pass both a CORI and SORI background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, with 21+ preferred

Candidates must have classroom experience, must be able to clear a background and fingerprint check, currently have a CPR certification or is willing to obtain certification upon hire, has flexible availability, and has reliable transportation. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, supervision of children, class management, lesson planning, and attendance for all center events, diaper changing and/or potty training, cleaning and sanitizing classrooms.

This position is full time, 7:30am – 3:30pm, with a starting pay range of $17.00 – $19.00 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications.
The YMCA is looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
