Volunteer

Our Y improves the lives of thousands of Franklin County kids, adults and seniors every year. We are grateful to our dedicated members who serve as Ambassadors and/or Volunteers to help us fulfill our mission.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, Y volunteers give men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at the Y, contact the YMCA Volunteer Coordinator at 413-773-3646 x448.

COMMUNITY MEALS
Franklin County’s YMCA partners up with Franklin County Community Meals Program held at the Second Congregational Church to provide meals to those in our community. An average of seventy people come to these meals every week. They come not only to feed their bodies but also to feed their souls. We are always looking for people to contribute to meals or to help serve meals.

FREE CLOTHING STORE
Cleaning out your closets helps families in need! You Y holds a free clothing store every October. When cleaning your closets we are looking for clean clothing, no stains or rips. We are always in need of fall and winter clothes (in larger sizes), especially adult coats and jackets and baby/toddler/children clothes. We accept clothes the week prior to the free store.

ADOPT A FAMILY
This holiday outreach program provides a Christmas to area low-income families. If you are interested in volunteering your time to help children in need of a Christmas, contact Jayne.

BLOOMING BACKPACKS – A United Way Program
Every summer the YMCA collects donations of money, school supplies or backpacks for local area kids who can not afford to start their school year off with the supplies they need.

BELLY BUS FOOD DRIVE
This food drive put on by Community Action in August because that’s when families need it most, as summer meal programs end and before school meal programs begin. Donations benefit emergency food programs here in Franklin County!
