Exercise Trainers along with guest fitness professionals will take participants through different exercises to learn the proper techniques and form to best support their weight-lifting goals. Whether you are looking to train for longevity, prepare for competition, or just to be able to move your body in a pain-free way, these clinics will give you the knowledge to be your best self.

There is a critical need for lifeguards around the country – NOW is the time to get your certification!
Perfect for strong swimmers ages 15 and up who are proficient in:
• Front Crawl • Breaststroke • Side Stroke
• Elementary Back Stroke • Treading Water (legs only for 2 minutes)
• Swim 550 yards continually (waterfront/lifeguard)
• Swim 300 yards continually (lifeguard)
• Retrieve 10 lb brick from bottom of pool

LIFEGUARDING IN-PERSON SKILLS TRAINING (approximately 28 hours) 

1. Prerequisite Swim Skill Evaluation: Thursday, May 2 at 7 pm
2. Course Runs:Tuesday & Thursday, May 7 – May 23 from 5-9 pm

Must attend all skills classes to receive certification.

In conjunction with our Free Weight Room Clinics, FCY is excited to host a series of upcoming weightlifting competitions in 2024: Strength In Numbers. In our weight room, members can test their strength with others in the community of their age and size.

This non-sanctioned competition is where members and the Franklin County community can compete in the bench press, deadlift, squat or all 3!

On each lift, there are three attempts to achieve the highest weight for one repetition for rewards in their class and overall.

Have you ever considered writing your own obituary? Giving yourself the opportunity to describe you and your life at its end is a wonderful gift to yourself. You get to use the descriptors you choose, tell the stories you want others to remember, and highlight moments in your life that you feel best illustrate who you were. Your obituary can be serious, humorous, even snarky. There aren’t any hard and fast rules. Come to this quirky workshop led by Y member Trouble Mandeson who served as a hospice volunteer for nearly 20 years and loves to talk about death and dying.
